Note 1: for these experiments, the user account and the CA account are located

on the same computer: the CA can read the user certiﬁcate directly in the user

home directory and leave the signed certiﬁcate in the /tmp directory where the

user can retrieve it. In a real setting, some trusted procedure must be used for

user/CA communications.

The Certiﬁcate authority returns the signed certiﬁcate to the user: The user

copies the certiﬁcate stored in ﬁle /tmp/XtreemOS-Yvon-cert.pem to his

home directory.
